Although my primary role at Rivian is to create animated training videos for vehicle manufacturing and service, my team and I were called upon to create illustrations for Rivian's Investor Day 2024 pamphlet.
These images required exporting engineering CAD into an intermediate format, and then importing it into Blender.
After the mesh was imported and cleaned up, materials were applied to replicate the physical product.
For illustrations involving transparency, a special transparent material was made that allowed fine-tuning of different parts of the vehicle to achieve the desired look.
Renders were done in Cycles for the highest possible visual quality.
For this project, all text overlays were done by a separate team before publication.
